Meet Our Staff
Todd was instilled with a love of service from his parents, Don and Ruth Mickelson, and the Presentation Sisters, especially Sister Del Rey Rudnick. He graduated from MSUM with a degree in Business Administration and went on to earn his MBA from the University of MN, Carlson School. He used that education in various marketing and sales positions before becoming the development director for Fargo Catholic Schools Network where he served for nine years. He joined Friends of Chimbote in 2014 as the mission development director and in September 2016 he began serving as the Executive Director. Todd has visited Chimbote a number of times and is passionate about the impact that Friends of Chimbote is having on the lives of the poor. He lives with his wife, Dr. Peggy Traynor Mickelson, and their three children in Fargo.
An art lover from an early age, Kim spent the early years of her career as a graphic artist and editorial liaison. Her work led her to the publishing world where she became editor in chief of several award-winning national magazines and EVP of Publication Services of America. She joined the Friends of Chimbote staff in September 2011 seeking a position where she could fulfill her dream to impact the lives of those in need. She visits Chimbote annually capturing images and stories of mission programs, services, and recipients to share with mission supporters. Kim and husband, Steve, who reside in Hawley, MN have two daughters, one son, two granddaughters and one great-grandaughter.

Cari Rauch joined the Friends of Chimbote staff in 2015 as the organization’s accountant. She has an extensive background in accounting and auditing bringing expertise to her position and works closely with the accounting staff in Chimbote. Cari has a passion for helping others and has served on several area non-profit boards. She enjoys volunteering and traveling and has visited many places around the world. Her first journey to Chimbote in the fall of 2015 provided her with first-hand knowledge of the poverty-stricken community that Friends of Chimbote supports.
