Become a mission partner and help those living in poverty in Chimbote, Peru
Without active advocates, our life-transforming mission work would not be possible. Our mission partners hail from across the United States and Europe and include people and groups of all ages, faiths, and abilities. All that is required is a desire to get involved and help us transform the lives of the poor of Chimbote. Explore several options below or contact us to share your creative ideas! We welcome your help and look forward to adding you to our circle of friends.

Lead a Mission Team
For over 30 years, thousands of people have answered the call and made a life-changing journey to our mission. They return home with a love for Chimbote in their hearts, never forgetting the sense of community that they experienced not only with fellow travelers but with the inspiring and loving people that they met and interacted with at the mission. Groups come from all over the United States and are comprised of high school and college students, sister parishes and congregations, service clubs, and other mission partners, as well as individuals. Because our mission visits have grown and become a thriving program, Friends of Chimbote, in coordination with ACAF and the parish, has established an experienced mission visit team to oversee all visitors and volunteer groups. This amazing group of ambassadors will ensure that your mission experience is one that transforms not only the lives of the poor, but yours as well.

Become a Mission Advocate
Our mission began with just a few people who were passionate about sharing the story of hope and life-changing work being accomplished in Chimbote. Even though our numbers have grown, we never underestimate the power of a single voice. Share our story with friends, family, co-workers, rotary clubs, or other civic groups and anyone else you think would like to learn more. Access our fundraising materials section for printable support materials to enhance your story-telling. Word of mouth has and will continue to grow our connections and widen our circle of friends.

Become a Sister Parish or Congregation
We are grateful for the support of numerous sister parishes and congregations, all who enjoy the opportunity to partner with us to serve the poor of Chimbote. Help comes in many forms, including proceeds from spaghetti dinners, pancake breakfasts, Holy Day collections, children’s envelopes, annual dinners, silent auctions, raffle ticket sales, and more. Big or small, the amount of support a sister parish or congregation is able to provide is welcome, along with prayers for the poor of Chimbote and those who serve them.

Have Fun while Fundraising!
Take initiative and inspire others to provide financial support for our mission! Join others who have creatively found ways to raise money for the poor of Chimbote: children who collect and donate their pennies during Lent, elementary students who hold bake sales, marathon runners who donate sponsorship funds, raising funds through casino nights and other theme parties … the list is endless. We would love to support you in your efforts so contact us if you would like our help to promote your fundraising idea.

Help with Our Annual Container Shipments
Each year, 40-foot containers are shipped to Chimbote filled with new and gently used supplies and equipment that are difficult and costly to obtain within Peru. Our container task force works with the mission staff to compile specific wish lists each year so that we are sure to collect and ship the items that are needed most. Our Home in a Box, School in a Bag, and Baby Bundles take priority because they are easy to pack and can be stored at the mission for distribution throughout the year. In addition to collecting goods for the container, volunteer help is welcome at our container warehouse located in Shakopee, MN during the months of July, August, and September. Individuals, families, Boy Scout Troops, rotary clubs, and hundreds of others have donated their time and talent providing hands-on support of this important program.
